ANANDAGHAR offered me a second opportunity at life, even though my journey has never been simple. I was abandoned by my family when I was eight years old and infected with HIV. However, all changed when I received love, support, and care from Organisation For Friends, Energies & Resources (OFFER). They supported me in pursuing my love of painting and had faith in me when others did not. They offered me the wonderful opportunity to learn from renowned painter Mr. Samir Aich. I completed my Higher Secondary education from Rabindra Bharati Distance Education and am now in the final year of my art degree from the Indian College of Arts & Draftmanship. I now design Puja pandals and Punjabi clothing as a freelance artist. Something I once believed was impossible, I continue my Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) treatment and lead a healthy, positive life. I hope my story encourages other kids like me to have faith in them and never give up, and OFFER continues to support me like family.
