Where it all began
What began as a small effort in the Baranagar-Belgharia area turned into a life-changing mission. While an expressway was under construction, children living on the streets risked their lives collecting coal remnants instead of going to school. Moved by their plight, Mr. Kallol Ghosh (affectionately known as Kallol da) began teaching them with his own pocket money.
Realizing the deeper dangers these children faced—exploitation, trafficking—he founded OFFER (Organisation For Friends Energies and Resources). Despite early doubts from others, his vision endured. Today, OFFER supports nearly 50,000 children, offering them safety, education, and hope for a better future.

Our Mission
- To secure the childhood of each child.
- To work with children and bring about changes in their attitude.
Our Vision
We strive to create an environment where children can play, think, laugh and grow as children and to respond pragmatically to the needs of disadvantaged children. Such response must include their families.
Our Goals
- To provide a practical response to the needs of disadvantaged children and their families.
- To enable the children to enjoy a more normal childhood.
- To make children independent through education and develop potentials to blend into mainstream society.

About the Founder: Kallol Ghosh
Kallol Ghosh, fondly known as Kallol Da, is the heart and soul behind OFFER (Organisation for Friends, Energies and Resources). His journey began with a simple yet powerful observation — the injustice faced by street children, especially those working in hazardous conditions instead of attending school.
In the early 1990s, while massive expressway constructions were underway in the Baranagar-Belgharia area, young children could be seen collecting ashes and coal remnants — a life-threatening pursuit for mere survival. Witnessing this harsh reality, Kallol Ghosh decided to take action. What started as a small, compassionate effort quickly transformed into a powerful grassroots movement.
Under his leadership, OFFER has grown into a trusted non-profit organization dedicated to child rights, education, protection, and community welfare. Through inclusive programs, Kallol Ghosh continues to inspire change, creating a safer, more dignified world for the most vulnerable.
Founder’s Mission: “To empower marginalized communities, especially children, by providing equal opportunities, care, and dignity — regardless of their background.”
