My transformation from a twelve-year-old youngster in Kolkata who was troubled and homeless to a successful student and artist is a real example of what committed help and kindness can accomplish. I am Pallab (Turjo) got a loving and secure home in the APANGHAR residential facility after being saved by the Organization for Friends, Energy and Resources (OFFER). My love for art, especially painting and clay sculpture, started to blossom there. In addition to providing me with housing, OFFER allowed me to further my education and follow my artistic aspirations. After a while, I was sent to Birbhum Sanskriti Bahini, an NGO in Birbhum, where I thrived in a natural setting and improved my acting and sculptural abilities. I finished with a degree in sculpture from Rabindra Bharati University after completing my upper secondary studies. In addition to proudly representing my university at the state level in sculpture and art, I am currently working for a Master’s degree in the same field. To OFFER and my mentor Kallol uncle, whose unfailing support, encouragement, and belief in me helped me convert from a hungry and homeless youngster to a self-assured and educated artist with a purpose, I owe my growth and transformation.
